1. Purpose of the Study: The aim of this study is to investigate how people sentence criminals.

2. Who can take part? You must be at least 18 years of age to participate.

3. Duration: It should take no more than 5 minutes to complete the study.

4. Voluntary participation Your participation in this study is voluntary; therefore you do not have to answer any questions and you can stop at any time. However, due to the nature of this study, data will be saved to an online server after each page is submitted, therefore we will be unable to withdraw your data once you submit it. However, you are still able to stop participating at any time and give no further information.

5. Statement of confidentiality: Your participation in this research is anonymous. The survey does not ask for any information that would identify to whom the responses belong. Your anonymity will be maintained to the degree permitted by the technology used. Specifically, no guarantees can be made regarding the interception of data sent via the Internet by any third parties.

6. Who has reviewed the study? The University of Chester's Psychology Department Undergraduate Ethics Committee has reviewed and approved this study.
